China Cupid, or to give it its official name of Chinese Cupid, is probably the best known Chinese dating site around. The site was formerly known as Chinese Love Links Chinese Cupid is operated by Cupid Media. Their extensive portfolio of dating sites are popular in a wide range of countries, and they’ve brought many couples together.

Trawling China Cupid in Search of Love

As soon as you sign up for free standard membership of Chinese Cupid then you’ll no doubt be amazed at how many members there are. The choice of lovely Chinese ladies available can seem overwhelming at first.

The best thing to do when you first start out is to work hard to make your profile as complete and honest as possible. This helps the ladies who spend a lot of time trawling the site for “the one”.

It’s good to set up My Matches so that the site’s matchmaking features get to work suggesting women you might be interested in. It’s a good idea to check this regularly, as more ladies pop up from time to time.

One good thing is that I haven’t had too much problems with are scammers. I’d say that the China Cupid scammers are quite easy to avoid if:

You avoid anyone who hasn’t uploaded a photo of themselves.
Be careful with newly joined members.
Chinese scammers tend to have studio photos done, and they don’t often have natural looking photos in their profile.
If (like me) you’re only looking for a Chinese girl from a particular part of China, then you must ruthlessly ignore anyone who isn’t from the same city or province.
Ignore chat requests!

I have only knowingly talked to two scammers on Chinese Cupid. One wanted to chat to me on an expensive translator site. I forget what made me suspicious of the other girl, but it was obvious she was up to no good.

Focussing Efforts on Finding Your Match

It’s actually quite a good thing to focus on a particular area. You can get to know the ladies in that city who are seeking husbands online. Sometimes you’ll see the same ladies on more than one site. You’ll also be able to pick up on how serious they are for finding a husband. In general, the more times they login, the more serious they are. However, be wary of serial daters and chataholics.

Get to know the time difference between your country and China. If you see a girl chatting online all night long then be suspicious of her. She might be spending all night chatting to a man she loves more than you, or she might be a scammer. Chinese girls tend to go to bed quite late, but they don’t normally stay up beyond 1 am, especially if they have to work the next morning.

Alternatives to China Cupid

I’ve grown a little board by Chinese Cupid of late. Because I am looking for a Chinese wife from a particular city in China, I see the same old ladies on the site time and time again. So sometimes it’s nice to make sure you’re using the best dating site for you.

I’ve had another look at Chnlove. I don’t really like this site now. It’s really expensive to use, compared to the Chinese Cupid flat rate payment system. The search engine is also very basic. It’s hard to find a good match with such a simple search facility.

Cherry Blossoms is popular with many guys seeking Asian brides. I don’t like this site much. The design is quite basic and the site was a little confusing to use. You can’t fault it’s low cost membership plans though.

DateInAsia is a free site. You get what you pay for though, and in this case it isn’t much. Members can only upload a single photo, and the profiles tend to be quite basic. If you can spot the good ladies from the many sex workers and scammers then you might get lucky on this site. My main concern is that people don’t put much effort into finding love and romance on a free dating site, so the quality of contacts here is quite poor. Meh, DateInAsia is largely a waste of time.

China Love Match is an interesting site. It has a competitive membership plan. They work hard to weed out the scammers. There’s also a bit more of a community feel to the site. I think this site is a good place to meet Chinese girls. There are more members than I thought they had on the site, and I’ve spotted one or two very sexy girls on China Love Match.

So if you want to find your Chinese valentine, then Chinese Cupid is well worth a look. I’ve met some fabulous girls through this site. I’ve not yet met my ideal lady, but I’m ever hopeful that this great Chinese dating site will deliver.
